Daywise Itinerary

Arrival at N.J.P Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport try to reach before 10am if possible and 7 hours journey to Yuksom, and spend the night at Homestay and enjoy the taste of local food and peace environment. Yuksom is a historical town in the West district of Sikkim, It is the main trailhead for the trek towards Mt.Kanchenjunga.

At early morning Trek begins from Yuksom homestay. We will be camping at Sachen. You will come across the valley of Rathong river, Pha khola, Perk river the water of Perk river are pure and crystal clear and hanging wooden bridge over the river makes your trek more adventurous, Tshushay Khola falls in a series of mini waterfalls joining the peek below Mentogang khola and you will engulfed between gush of trees all around small path leading you to your destination.

Early morning after breakfast we will start our trek to Phedang via Tshoka. Tshoka is a historic place, where few Tibetan people use to live until Kanchenjunga National park declared this place as protected area they have been shifted to Yuksom with all their belongings, sheeps, yak herd’s etc. This hill has a Monastery where trekkers pray for the successful summit and right below the monastery there is a small pond which makes the place so serene and beautiful. And snow clad mountains can be seen from here. Camp Site in Tshoka

Get up at morning and go around the campsite for bird watching you can witness the different variety of birds in this trek. After breakfast move towards Dzongri and the trail is covered by Rhododendron tress all around you and the landscape changes from Deorali to most scenic trail.

Early morning we will move towards Dzongri la Top viewpoint to witness the mighty Kanchenjunga range right in front of you and sun rays hitting the mountainous god the view will really refresh your mind for long long time. Dzongri la means the places where people meet the gods of the mountains. After that we will move towards Thansing crossing the beautiful meadow and Prekchu river icy cold water flowing in the river, and forest of Rhododendron trees next to the river the view will make your day more pleasing.

Trek from Thansing to Lamuney will be the easiest trek a straight walk from Thansing. Trek along the meadows straight ahead the path leading to Goechala. At Lamuney we will be camping right below the snow clad mountain.

Today trek will be longer than before we have to wake up at 3am morning and head toward our summit via Samiti Lake the colour of the lake is really magical. After reaching the summit spend some time with nature and mountainousgod and magnificent view of mountain and glaciers make the trekker spellbound. Andback to Kokchurung via Thansing. Camping at Kokchrung and beautiful surrounding nearby make you feel like you are in heaven for the moment. Pitch the tent by the river. We can witness different varietyof flora and fauna during the trek if your luck favour you you can see Red Panda, barking deer, blood Pheasant, Blue Sheep etc.

The way to Tshoka from Kokchurung is covered by Maple trees, Pine trees and Rhododendron trees and other bushes. The way is easy from valley to valley we will reach Tshoka in afternoon via Phedang.
